MucchioMisto is an experimental workshop about action and creative writing.

It is part of the new Motus 2011>2068 project Making the plot, based on the idea of the plot, the tangle, the texture resistant and rowdy made up by stories and witnesses of young people coming from different countries of the Mediterranean area. Making the plot will see Motus moving, with different inquiries, towards areas afflicted by political and social hard shifts: where the word “revolution” is newly pronounced firmly.

It is open to 15 participants: performers invited by the company and young people interested in the theatre world coming from North Africa and Balkan area living in Modena.

During the last day of the workshop, the audience will be included at the area of Teatro Storchi, but it will not be the only chance to meet this work… Mucchio Misto Workshop was born as a laboratory of quick work in public areas and unexpected places: during this experience the group is going to build up collective actions for the urban texture and the Festival "folds".

Motus

Motus is a company founded in 1991 by Enrico Casagrande and Daniela Nicolò.
From that moment on, the company has taken the aim to realise an interdisciplinary and polymorphic work. In their work are included not only actors, but musicians, designers and sculptors as well. They are still trying to expand the theatrical experience in different genres. Motus have always based their works on daily life, using contemporary contradictions, provoking and reflecting on it.
After a long period of production, getting their inspiration from authors such as Genet, Ballard, Pasolini, De Lillo, Fassbinder, the company gave birth to three new projects strongly linked to present social and political transformations.
Between these, the project X(ics)Racconti crudeli della giovinezza (2007) is about suburbs and today young people, who are spread in the metropolitan scene. The text give voice to weird resistance of teenagers in french, german and italian banlieues.
The project Syrma Antigónes, started in 2008, has been created from the idea of an analysis of the relationship/challenge between generations taking Antigone’s dramatic character as an archetype of fight and resistance. From this project took shape three more Contest – Let the Sunshine In (antigone) contest#1, Too late! (antigone) contest#2, Iovadovia (antigone) contest#3 and a performance, Alexis, a Greek tragedy.
Making the plot, new Motus project 2011>2068 develops starting from the analysis of the word “revolution” as a sudden shift that brings to a breaking point of an early model and the birth of a new one. The research is composed by workshops, conventions and headquarters for artists coming from “hot areas”.
“The plot is the revolution” is the event that opens the new project Making the plot, which is a meeting between two Antigones, Silvia Calderoni and Judith Malina from Living Theatre, a dialogue between generations, experiences, different voices but strongly linked, something that makes us think that the theatre is still a possibility of action”.
