Since their debut with the show Orthographe de la physionomie en mouvement (2005) presented at Biennale of Venice in a renowned edition directed by Romeo Castellucci, they always lead toward a development of their research of the mix and on the edge between visual and performative arts.
For the third time at VIE, the Orthographe presents the première Una settimana di bontà _stagione1, a new phase of their researching and experimental career, a project inspired by one of the most devastating contemporary experiences: tv-reality.
The object of their work is human control and manipulation, powered by mass-media and new technologies; this kind of control creates a new world which has the goal to cover the need of sociality and community of the human nature. An artificial addiction able to create a number of passive users, unable to react. Here it is the emergency of a few questions. Why are we subjected to this kind of process? What is the seduction that the subject himself wishes?
A work in which is created a continuous intersection between audience and performers that occupy the same action place; in a building composed by many rooms, the show takes place without a stage, without a fixed sight perspective. This situation creates a sort of involuntary public, what themselves define as a “Not-orientated Spectator”, who enters in the action itself.
Guests watch and reproduce space-time loops, i.e. repeat normal micro-gestures that mark reiteration. Between guest artists who collaborate to this new work, projecting and living in one of the rooms, we mention Ane Lan and Moira Ricci.

Orthographe

The Orthographe (Alessandro Panzavolta, Forlì 1975 / Angela Longo, Ravenna 1978) were instituted in Ravenna in 2004. Since their beginning, they have been working in the creation of works in which visual arts and theatre interweave and go together. Their research on optic devices applied on visual arts and theatre, brings Orthographe to the realization of works for the optic camera such as Orthographe de la physionomie en movement (2005 Biennale di Venezia theatre section) and Tentativi di volo (2007 What’s next Spielart München).
Orthographe collaborates since 2007 with the musician Lorenzo Senni and the photographer Cesare Fabbri. Controllo Remoto debuts at Rotterdamer Schouwburg Festival in Semptember 2009 in Rotterdam.
