1978. Café Müller by Pina Bausch. A theatre infarct in the dance world. An artistic event, a piece of art history of the 19th Century. For all of us - too young at that time – Café Müller has been a comparison milestone, a myth, a set phrase. After thirty years we take Café Müller as a starting point. Today that object is bound to be other because time usually transforms, cancels and confuses and the idol, untouchable and turned into a legend, is finally crushed, only rubbles stays. Rubbles, at the end. A work on memory treasons, a re-invention attempt continuously interrupted by a multitude of small collateral tales between autobiography and absolute daydream. An improbable time rewind. Rewind, that’s it.
