A beautiful and moving lesson on fragility and on the way in which a physical lack can be trasformed thanks to the power of creativity. Ali is the show that signs the meeting between two old friends: Mathurin Bolze and Hedi Thabet, both grown in the circus. Bolze is a breathtaking acrobat , always unconventional and applauded in his evolutions, Thabet was a valued juggler until a serious illness forced him to redefine and redraw his art. Ali is the story of their meeting, challange and chance in which acrobatics gives the place to poetry. Strength, no more showed, becomes an inner impulse that is trensfered to the audience through their complicity. It’s a couple dance with four crutches, where the bodies merge appropriating each other and creating a monstrous two heads being, with three legs and four arms, where is not possible to distinguish who is who. Comical effects and tender looks alternate. Mathurine gives up the explosive power of his acrobatics to enhance the strength that lies behind the lack. Really moving.
