Le sang des rêves is the first adaptation for theatre based on the novel of the same name by Kathy Acker, American writer of the 80s.
In this patchwork, irreverent book, the punk-style author describes the life of Janey – 10 years old at the beginning of the story – and takes us into a disturbing children’s universe.
Sexual taboos, social and political critic are touched with the humor and the angry causticity typical of Acker’s spirit.
In a style similar to the Nouvelle Vague cinema, the book open us to choral hymns to dreams and visions.
New York, where the author sets his novel, appears as the kaleidoscopic and energetic origin of the story.
Faithful to the subversive spirit of the writer, Paticia Allio, who lived in New York for a while, gives voice mainly to the schizophrenic point of view that comes out from the story.
The performance, in a mixture of presences on the scene, invite the audience to a chaotic trip similar to a catharsis…
