The Goldberg Variations by Bach is a really complex canon with several variations of tone and rhythm and technical virtuosities. The absence of a clear musical path is one of its most interesting aspects, according to the choreographer Virgilio Sieni. The spectacle, performed since 1897, shows the meeting between a dancer and a pianist that leads to the revelation of the fraility and the imperfection of dance. The metrics of "Goldberg Variations" becomes the challenge towards the research of an indipendent dimension. At the end of every variation there is a moment of pause, before starting again the lonesome dance together with the piano.
