This performance is part of the project “Cerbiatti del nostro futuro” created in 2011: here Virgilio Sieni will direct a group of young dancers between 10 and 13 years old. The project is designed into the transmission and the creation paths of Accademia sull’Arte del Gesto founded in 2007 by Virgilio Sieni himself. Fuga is the first choreography of “Cerbiatti del nostro futuro” and it is inspired by the sense of journey towards a new land. In this choreographic and physical journey, the young girls support and help each other creating a continuous set of contacts and figures. Tactile elements, paintings and photography have driven this creation: starting from the paintings depicting the story of the Escape into Egypt and the images showing the exodus and leaks of the present day. In the sweetness and vitality of the young dancers, we can capturing the urgency of the dance such as a founding moment of a journey.
The enthusiasm of the young dancers of Livorno, magnificently expressed toward their dance, is the base of the project “Cerbiatti del nostro fututo”. The choreography presented here in In ascolto is inspired by the text All’ascolto by Jean-Luc Nancy: it is a study on the implications of being in listening. Guided by his breathing, the dancers search another voice, a corporal voice: the voice of their body. To be in listening to means being constantly on edge, striving towards something, in connection through the breath and the heart.

The project “Cerbiatti del nostro futuro” is part of the transmission and creation paths of “Accademia sull’arte e del gesto”, founded in 2007 by Virgilio Sieni. “Cerbiatti del nostro futuro” born in 2011, in order to create and develop a repertoire of contemporary dance intended to young dancers between 10 and 13. This is original choreography created by Virgilio Sieni and cured in collaboration with a team of assistants and with the participation of artists, architects, art historians, philosophers, anthropologists and geographers. The basic intention is to give life to a path of direct transmission for children, creating a method of approach to the creation divided into several stages. The project's objective is to let meet, through the practice of dance, children coming from various schools and backgrounds; the active involvement of dance schools in the communities, responds to the intent to create new artistic possibilities and a more opened dialogue, within a shared vision of the paths. The project aims to promote the development of a deep look on the processes of contemporary dance, involving families, children, teens and adults.
